On March 26, 2019, Hollande, former president of France, headed for Hainan and attended the “Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2019”. Zhong Naixiong, chairman of Nenking Group, banqueted Hollande, along with Fu Qiang, GM of SDIC Taikang Trust. You Yongqiang, executive director of Nenking Overseas Investment Company, and Jiang Junyi, partner of Tron Fund, also attended the banquet. Later, Mr. Zhong gave a jersey and a souvenir of the Eastern Sports Club (owned by Nenking) as presents to Mr. Hollande.
The next day, Feng Qiang, head of Yazhou District, Sanya, escorted Mr. Hollande and Mr. Zhong to visit Nenking’s project, the Sanya Yicui Pastoral Complex. To echo with the state’s pastoral complex program, this pilot project combines distinctive rural features with urban elements together to forge a “cultural tourism+agricultural tourism+consumption” journey, so as to facilitate urban-rural integration. Around the project is the well-developed transportation and picturesque scenery, which are advantageous for developing a pastoral complex. Hence, Nenking vitalizes all factors to set up five themes: Coastal Leisure, Artistic Garden, Lohas Village, Green Woods and Mountain Hike. At the same time, Nenking capitalizes on its resources, injecting brand-new economies into the project to propel local economic growth. The planning area for this project is 16,806 acres, while the gross floor area is 1.3 million sq.m. The total investment is about 12.18 billion yuan.
China has accomplished a lot in recent decades, and we intended to cement the China-Europe partnership, said Hollande, who showed a keen interest after visiting Nenking’s project. He also mentioned that he could bring some high-end French brands to the project to enhance exchange with Hainan for mutual prosperity.
